Burhanpur, Khargone enter next round

BURHANPUR AND Khargone districts won their respective matches in the U-17 inter-district cricket tournament organised by Indore divisional cricket association under the aegis of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association played at the Emerald Heights International school grounds.

In the thrilling match, Burhanpur defeated Dhar by one wicket. Batting first, Dhar managed 162 runs in 25.1 overs. Chetan Yadav scored 27. Nikhil Khandelwal bowled well to capture 3/27.

In reply, Burhanpur surpassed the required runs after losing nine wickets to win the match by one wicket. Dharmendra Mahajan scored an unbeaten 32 with five boundaries.

Chandrakant Rajpurohit took three wickets while Uday Agarwal and Chetan Yadav took two wickets each respectively.
In the second match, Khargone in their inaugural match defeated Jhabua by one wicket to enter the second round. Batting first, Jhabua district scored 133 runs in 27.5 overs. Raj Singer (29), Ravindra Avasia (25) and Sagar Solanki (21) were the main scorers. Mulesh Kumarbal took three wickets while Ankit Bundela and Sneh Naik took two wickets each for Khargone district.

In reply, Khargone struggled to surpass the low target after losing nine wickets to win the match by one wicket. Ravindra bowled well to capture three wickets.

Earlier, Emerald Heights International school director Mukteshwar Singh was introduced to both the teams.
