Bus damaged in 24-Parganas during bandh

A government bus was attacked and damaged and the driver injured by bandh supporters at Maheshtala in South 24-Parganas district during the Bangla bandh called by Trinamool Congress and SUCI on Monday.

The bus, bound for Budge Budge from Taratala, was stopped by bandh supporters and damaged and the driver beaten up, said police, who rescued him and sent him to hospital.

Ten bandh supporters were arrested.

Another 15 bandh supporters were arrested for trying to block the movement of trains at Akra railway station in the district, police said.
