THE DIVISIONAL Traffic Coordination Committee in its meeting could not take a final decision on the issue of declaring no-parking zones in different parts of the City. Now, a committee would be set up to decide on the matter. Besides, the decision on shifting the statues from squares to public parks could not be taken.

The district administration has identified about 50 areas to be declared no-parking zones in the City. But the committee decided that a team of elected representatives and officials should inspect these areas prior to any decision in this regard.

Industries and Commerce Minister Babulal Gaur, who chaired the meeting, outrightly rejected the proposal of shifting the statues from squares to public parks. He said that the State Government has already provided an amount of Rs 2 crore for installation of traffic signals in Bhopal. Mayor Sunil Sood, divisional commissioner, K K Singh, IG Sanjeev Singh, district collector S K Mishra and other members were also present in the meeting.

It was decided that the routes of the City buses would be extended to 10 kilometers beyond the BMC limits.
