Directing the prosecution to open his sealed house in Delhi by Wednesday, a court in Chandigarh on Tuesday extended the CBI custody of prime accused Ravinder Singh Bhasin till September 27 in connection with the cash-at- Judge's door scandal.

Special CBI judge Jagdep Jain after hearing arguments did not give relief to Bhasin even as his counsels pleaded that the prosecution is seeking custody for unnecessary reasons.
The CBI told the court that the accused had given certain contradictory statements during his remand and the agency wanted to get them verified.

However, the defence objected to the CBI's plea for further custody claiming that the investigating agency was making vague grounds to seek custody.

The defence also pleaded that the sealed house of the hotelier in the national capital be opened and its possession given to his family members.
