Many property builders in Noida Extension are luring their prospective buyers on the pretext of providing a housing unit with connectivity through an upcoming Delhi Metro rail route. But the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said it has no plans for the area as yet.

According to the DMRC, builders have been riding on a false wave of Metro rail. They lured several house buyers citing an "upcoming Metro link" in Noida Extension.

A senior DMRC official categorically said that there was no Metro plan for Noida Extension as yet. "The Noida Extension Metro route, mentioned frequently in cyber space, is a product of people's imagination."

However, several community web portals remained abuzz, "letting residents know" about "better connectivity" in Noida Extension in "the days to come".

Even the DMRC officials are flooded with queries on the status of the so-called Noida Extension project.

"There have been queries regarding the status of new Metro projects. There is no Noida Extension plan," the officials said and clarified that the area does not fall under its proposed Greater Noida Metro link.

NO Noida EXTENSION!
Interestingly, there is no place called Noida Extension in official records. The area being referred to by builders as Noida Extension for obvious reasons (Noida has Metro connectivity) is actually a part of Greater Noida. And, even the proposed Greater Noida Metro link does not touch the so-called Noida Extension area.
