Cache of arms, explosives seized in JK

Large quantity of arms and explosive material, including four kgs of RDX and two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), were seized from two militant hideouts in border districts of Poonch and Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir, a police spokesman said in Jammu on Saturday.

Acting on a tip off, a joint team of army and police launched search operation in Duby forest area of Mendhar in Poonch district and recovered arms from a militant hideout on Friday, he said.

The recoveries included four kgs of RDX, two under-barrel grenade launchers, one pistol with a silencer, 18 detonators, four batteries and seven packets of medicines, the spokesman said.

In another search operation carried in Jarranwali Dhok of Kandi sector in Rajouri district today, the security forces busted a militant hideout and seized two IEDS, four UBGL grenade, three hand grenades, 132 rounds of AK ammunition, 25 rounds of Pika ammunition, 14 pistol rounds and 12 detonators, he said.
