HEMA SCHOOL and Radhakrishnan School today sailed into the next round of the Independence Cup Football Tournament being organised in the City by Sports Authority of BHEL in association with BHEL Bhecnis.
Two matches were played on the third day of the tournament, In the first match, Hema School registered a thumping 5-0 win over Saraswati School. Hema players dominated the entire game. Hema scored two goals in the first 12 minutes of the game itself.
The first goal came from the foot of Suraj Negi in the 7th minute. Just after five minutes Dheeraj Bhuriya made the lead 2-0. After conceding two goals in the first half, Saraswati School could never bounced back in the half. The first half ended with the scoreboard reading 2-0.
Second half was more painful for Saraswati School as the team even failed to stop Hema School forays. Such was the situation in the match that every player of Hema School wanted to score. This half saw three goals.
In the second match, Radhakrishnan School upset MGM School. MGM, who had thumped Hero’s School 5-0 yesterday, failed to stand against Radhakrishnan School. Playing with no coordination and strategy MGM School lost 0-4. MGM conceded three goals in the first half. Sunil Kaul and Ravi Tomar were the scorer.
Though Radhakrishnan School played a defensive game in the second half, the team managed to score another goal in the 70th minute. Sunil Kaul netted the ball. DGM Sports Club KM Bhasin was the chief guest of the second match.
