State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Jugal Kishore Sharma on Tuesday appreciated the decision to cancel the scheduled talks between India and Pakistan.

"The decision to cancel the scheduled talks has sent a clear message to Pakistan and other hostile nations that New Delhi will not tolerate any interference in the internal affairs of the country. Things have changed in the country under the leadership of Narendra Modi," said Sharma. He added the decision must make the so called mainstream Kashmiri leaders and separatists realise that under no situation will India allow anyone to tinker, even slightly, with Indian sovereignty in Jammu and Kashmir.

"Jammu and Kashmir was, is and shall always remain an integral part of India," he said. He further said the only issue which remained unresolved between the two nations was the political future of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Gilgit-Baltistan, which are legitimately Indian, and which the country would re-integrate with itself some day.

Sharma said Pakistan had betrayed India by inviting Kashmir-based murderers and enemies of peace and humanity to hold talks with its High Commissioner in Delhi.

"Who are these Geelanis, Mirwaizs, Maliks and Shahs to talk on behalf of the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. They are self-seekers, mercenaries and merchants of death and destruction. They represent only themselves, their vested interests and communal interests of Pakistan," Sharma said, adding gone were the days when they would be accorded a dangerous respectability by certain elements in the establishments in Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir.
