Here's how you can take care of your warm clothes in winters.
Lukewarm water to wash clothes: Use lukewarm water and gentle washing liquid for washing woollen clothes as hot water and harsh washing detergents can damage the fabric and discolour the woollens.
No squeezing: Do not squeeze the clothes; press them in between soft towels to remove water so that the woollens do not shrink.
Only steam iron: Always use steam iron with woollen setting because excess heat always damages softness of woollen clothing. If it is mentioned “dry clean only”, then go for dry cleaning else the clothes will loose its shine and will shrink.
Use padded hangers: Hang the woollen clothes in padded hangers, and try to leave breathing space in-between when storing.
Daily care: After every use always brush your woollen clothes to remove the dust from its surface, and then store them in a clean wardrobe. Also, keep dry neem leaves or naphthalene balls in the cupboard where woollen clothes are hanged to avoid a damp stink.
