Caribbean blues

We’ve crashed out of the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean. The boys must be really feeling blue.

Yes, I feel that they should have a feel-bad party now. It’ll make a nice change from all the feel-good bashes that they had during the Indian Premier League.

Are you suggesting that they party at the drop of a hat?

Maybe not a hat, but certainly at the drop of every wicket. In the West Indies, I gather it was fiesta forever and a quick game in between for our lads.

But captain M.S. Dhoni has a point, you have to respect your bodies when you are playing such big leagues

I agree, what better respect than to let your hair down after IPL games. Nothing like a lugubrious libation or two and shaking a leg to ease the stress.

You feel that our boys should eat asparagus soup and go to bed by 9 pm?

I wouldn’t go that far, but given our craven worship of them, it wouldn’t hurt to give us our money’s worth in real games with the big boys and not just the Bollywood theatrics of the IPL.

I’m not complaining, I just love all the cheerleaders, the closing shimmies by Bipasha Basu and the drama surrounding Lalit Modi.

I see you have not even noticed that games of cricket are also played in the midst of all this.

Do say: Everyone must come to the aid of the party.

Don’t say: Let’s reverse swing tonight.
