A gang of carjackers in the city have devised a new action plan. Pretending to be guests, they targeted the parking lot of a luxury hotel in Sector 29 and drove away with two vehicles along with a parking attendant.
According to police, the carjackers came to the hotel near Leisure Valley Park on Monday, as guests. They also abducted parking attendant Ravinder Singh, who later managed to escape from their clutches when they slowed down the hijacked cars at the toll plaza on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway.
According to a police, Singh saw two people entering the parking area in an Alto car. As the attendant got into the vehicle, two other occupants of the car snatched keys of a Swift Dezire from him at gunpoint.
The, one of the robbers took control of the Swift Dzire and drove away while Singh was taken along by the occupants of the Alto car.
Singh managed to get off from the car when it was slowed down at the toll plaza. The carjackers were heading towards Delhi.
"We have asked the expressway operator to provide us the CCTV footage to trace the accused. It is too early to reach any conclusion at the moment. We are investigating the matter," said a police officer of Sector 29 police station.
The officials of the expressway operator Delhi-Gurgaon Super Connectivity Limited have said that they do not have the CCTV footage of the incident which took place about 700 yards from the toll plaza near the U-turn.
