A cultural bonanza marked the annual day function of the Carmel Convent S S School, BHEL. Governor Dr Balram Jakhar was the chief guest at the function organised on the school premises on Wednesday. Principal Secretary of School Education Indraneel Shankar Dani was the guest of honour.
In her welcome address, Principal Sister Noel stated that the Governor’s presence sublimed the celebrations. She also highlighted that the theme for the event, Woman – The Miracle of Creation, portrays the vision, mission and goals of the school.
The Governor in his address praised the students performance. “I congratulate the role played by the school in rendering excellent education to girls thereby empowering them in becoming culturally-rich citizens.
“Education will pay rich dividends in life. It is really heartening to see the school highlight motherhood, love, affection and womanhood through its diverse presentations.
“We have to provide an atmosphere of growth to the girl child in our society,” he said. Jakhar also expressed concern over the destruction of Mother Nature and appealed to the children to preserve nature by planting trees. He advised the children to keep the flame of independence and comradeship burning.
The amazing presentations: ‘Sanjeevani – The herb of life’, highlighting the various phases of womanhood and ‘Green Teacher’ left the audience enthralled. Various dances, including the invocation dance, tune-n-steps, Prakriti Ki Sargam, say it with flowers and up above the world reflected the richness of culture among the students.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of annual school report. Set against the backdrop of the land of Arabia and the genie, the various achievements in the academic, sports and cultural fields were presented in an an attractive form leaving the audience spellbound. School head girl Parul Kaul compered the programme.
