A case has been registered against a sub-inspector of police for allegedly harassing a girl, with whom he was infatuated, and preparing fake documents showing her as his legally-wedded wife and more than 18 years of age at the time of their marriage.

A complaint was made last week against the sub-inspector Mohmmad Siddiqui by Ashok Yadav, a resident of South Malaka in the city, spokesman of the office of Inspector General of Police, Allahabad Range, C P Pandey said.

Yadav had alleged that Siddiqui had lived as a tenant in his house for a few years while he was a student and had got infatuated with his daughter Laxmi. After getting the job, he approached them and expressed his desire to marry her which was accepted neither by the girl nor her family members, Pandey said.
