"A judge has been booked here for allegedly assaulting his bride to be and demanding cash and vehicle from her family in a drunken condition," police said on Friday.

"The Kotwali police has registered a case against judge Inder Singh Malaviya, who under the influence of alcohol demanded Rs one lakh in cash and a Maruti car on Wednesday night from the girl's family," they said.

The complaint was filed by Monica Solanki whom the judge was to wed.

In her complaint, Monica said, "Malaviya came to her house in a drunken condition and demanded the sum and the vehicle from her family."

She said that when they refused to give in to his demands, he even slapped her and threatened to take her away forcibly.

After the incident, the marriage was called off.

However, no action has been taken against the judge so far.
