Highlight Story

Italian World cup star Marco Materazzi is cashing in on his headbutting incident with France's Zinedine Zidane through a hilarious advertisement for sports giants Nike.

Materazzi, is reportedly being paid 25,000 pounds for the campaign, which is currently running in Italy but can be seen on the web and may also be screened abroad later this year.

According to the Daily Mail, Materazzi is seen fending off a ten-pin bowling ball by parrying it with his chest, then an American footballer makes a flying, chest-high tackle which fails to floor him, before two American GI's also try and take him out with a huge iron battering ram.

He is then seen stopping a huge off road jeep with his chest as the wheels screech and dig into the ground in a scene reminiscent of Superman.

The ad ends with a huge demolition ball on a crane swinging towards Materazzi who speedily dives out of the way before shaking his head.

The caption at the end of the ad reads: " Every athlete has their secret weapon".

The campaign is to promote Nike's new training vest, which he wears in the advertisement.

The headbutt incident between Materazzi and Zidane was the most memorable talking point of the World Cup, which Italy won on penalties.

In the days after it was suggested that the Frenchman had hit out at Materazzi because he had insulted his mother and made racist and political insults as well.

It led to FIFA officials giving Materazzi and two-match ban and a 2,500-pound fine while Zidane who had already retired was given a three-match ban and a 3,750-pound fine.
