A caterer has gone missing in mysterious circumstances from Ballabgarh near Faridabad with his family accusing a financer of abducting him.

The police have registered case of kidnapping against the financier and his brothers after the family filed a complaint.

Ravi Sharma went missing five days ago but the police have no clue about him or his alleged abductors. The family of Ravi Sharma, who lives in Chawla colony in Ballabgarh, said he had lent about R35 lakh to one Dharampal, a financer, sometime back.Dharampal and Ravi had worked together a few years ago.

On Thursday, Dharampal allegedly called Ravi to his home on the pretext of returning him the money. But Ravi has been missing since then, raising the suspicion that he has been abducted.

The family lodged a complaint after which a case of abduction was registered against Dharampal and his two brothers — Bijender and Bhura — on March 30.

The police recovered Ravi’s scooty outside Dharampal’s residence but there is no trace of the victim.According to Romesh Chand, the victim’s childhood friend, Ravi had time and again urged Dharampal to return him the money as he had borrowed the amount from his maternal uncle four years ago.

“Even the panchayat was convened to settle the matter but Dharampal would refuse to return the amount,” Chand said, adding, “his mobile has been switched off since then”.Ravi, 26, has small eating points in Ballabgarh. “We are investigating the case,” said a police official.
