A team of Central Bureau of Investigation officials on Tuesday questioned several guards of Kanchanjunga apartments in Noida Sector 53, where Dr Praful and Anita Durani live.

The Duranis are family friends of Dr Rajesh and Nupur Talwar. The CBI has arrested their servant, Raj Kumar, in the case. Then SP (City) MK Mishra too was questioned.

Some of the guards who were questioned said they were asked about Raj Kumar and whether anyone had had seen him going out of the house on the night of May 15. They were also asked whether Vijay Mandal was seen with Raj Kumar in the past.

Aarushi and Hemraj were murdered on the night of May 15-16. The CBI team inspected the registers to see who came and went out on that night from the sector. They also asked about the security system and whether the numbers of vehicles were noted down, especially during the night. The guards told them that they did if the vehicles were of outsiders.

Mishra, who was questioned, was one of the first to reach the Talwars’ residence after the murder.

It's close to two months since the double murders but there has been not breakthrough in the case so far. The CBI took over the probe of the case on June 1. However, even after two arrests, that of Krishna and Raj Kumar, there is no clarity on who killed the two. The CBI has continued to oppose the bail of Rajesh Talwar, arrested by Noida Police.
