With Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ baby daughter Suri back in the news, the race is on to see which celebrity magazine is ready to doll out the mega bucks for exclusive first pictures of the infant.
According to TMZ.com, editorial staffers from People, Us Weekly, In Touch, Life and Style and OK! magazine revealed just how much the magazines are willing to shelve out for the pictures.
A source at OK! magazine revealed mags would be willing to pay anything between $4 to 5 million for posed photos of the nearly three-month-old Suri.
In Touch and Life & Style magazines however, think that pictures will only be able to rake in between $2 million - 3 million due to the fact that Cruise’s ‘concealment’ of his infant daughter is an attempt to create a mystery, and drive the price up.
People magazine, which reportedly paid $4.1 million for pictures of Brangelina’s baby, feels that any Suri pics will still fetch less than Shiloh's, and that the main attraction would be Katie Holmes and her transition from an “apple-cheeked All-American girl into the Bride of Scientology”.
A source at Us Weekly seconded People’s claim, and said that the value of TomKat’s baby’s pics have more to do the “freak factor” surrounding them than the little girl herself.
Also making an impact on the price would be where the money will be spent – whether on aid to help people in need, or on the Church of Scientology, and if a paparazzo beat the magazines to the first picture.
