Celebs hide love life from media

Being honest may not be the best policy, especially when you are heartthrob of the nation. This is most love struck stars believe.

Being honest may not be the best policy, especially when you are heartthrob of the nation. Well, this is most love struck stars believe.

After going through a bitter experience of being true about their affairs to the media, many have decided not to talk about it because it shifts people's attention from their work to many other trivial issues.

Ramp to reel hunk Upen Patel confesses that he is into a relation now but is not willing to disclose anything as he says, "When I was going around with Amrita Arora, I shared each and every details with media, colleagues and friends but even after being so honest I was subjected to unnecessary fuss with rumours regarding my other affairs. I was associated with so many other girls and I am projected as a Casanova boy of the industry which is not my true image. Is this the gift of being honest in the industry? It's true that I am going around with a girl these days but I refuse to reveal anything because I know honesty doesn't pay here."

Bipasha Basu endorses Upen's point. She feels that she has never hid about her affair but even then so many unnecessary things circulate all over in the media. She is very unhappy about the latest rumours about her break-up with John Abrahim.

"I don't know why this happens to me. The more I try to be honest about my affair, the more people try to drag me into controversies. People know each and every details of my affair with John even then rumours about our break up became talk of the town until we both came out together and dismissed all that.

Not only that some people even linked me with Vivek Oberoi and propagated that we are going around. I am really upset with this kind of behaviour," retorts Bipasha.

Another leading lady of the industry, Priety Zinta, she feels that it's a crime to be honest about your own relation. "I openly talked about my relationship with Ness but I don't know how everyone started assuming that we have got married. I feel that being honest to people is like doing a grave injustice to myself. Shouldn't people have some respect for my honesty?" questions Preity.
