"Lots of work," said Bollywood star Celina Jaitley. The tiredness in the voice on the other side of the phone said it all. The Kolkata girl is very busy and has signed a three-film contract with Subhash Ghai’s Mukta Arts.

She has also "signed Suneel Darshan’s new film Shaka Laka Boom Boom opposite Upen Patel and Bobby Deol", says Celina.

Starting next month, the actor will also do a lot of shows in the US, Canada and other places with some of the biggest stars in Bollywood starting next month.

The Mukta Arts contract includes Sangeeth Sivan’s Apna Sapna Money Money. "I play the lead role of an international con artist. It is a memorable comic role and I have been greatly inspired by one of Sridevi’s two roles in Chaalbaaz," says Celina over phone from Mumbai. There are two more films, which have not been finalised.

At a time when Celina Jaitley is loaded with Hindi film offers, she wants to do a regional film.

Celina also plays the lead in Vikram Bhatt’s dark and emotional love story,

, opposite Aftab Shivdasani. "Everything in the film deals with red — red emotions, red anger," she says.

In Darshan’s film, Celina plays a very young PR person. "I will soon leave for South Africa for a 15-day schedule of the shoot," says Celina. The film is full of fun and Celina feels that it will appeal to everyone.

One aspect of Celina’s career is variety - she is not stuck in an image trap though she seems to have come to terms with comedy.

Like most other actors, she also feels that doing comedy is tough. "But you have to do it seriously. If you keep thinking that you have to make people laugh, it becomes tough. I loved Sanjana in

and the way I went about playing the character. Did I force people into laughing?" she asks.

As an actor, however, Celina is loving the variety of roles she is getting to play. But there is something that she is still craving for. "I would like to work in a Bengali period film. I want people to approach me. I am game for it," she says.

We ask Celina whether she is on her way into the big league. "Wasn’t I in the big league with

? There was a time when I didn’t know where I was heading after

, but things are different now. Glamour for me happened overnight," she says.
