THE CENTRAL Zone Ranji one-dayers will begin at the Usha Raje Cricket grounds and the Emerald Heights International grounds in the City on Sunday.
The venue was shifted from Kanpur to Indore due to heavy rain at Kanpur. Host MP, stronghold UP, Railways, Rajasthan and Vidarbha players will be in action for the coming five days.
In the first match at Usha Raje Cricket grounds, host MP will be playing against Rajasthan. MP skipper Abbas Ali said that they would be playing a positive game and have good side with a couple of youngsters playing their debut match.
They have advantage as they are playing on their home grounds, he added. The umpires for the match are V B Mouli and Devendra Sharma.
Rajasthan team was deprived of net practice due to delay in their flight and will be playing their first match directly. At Emerald Heights International School grounds, stronghold Railways will be playing against Vidarbha in their first match. All the three top players — J P Yadav, Sanjay Banger and Murli Kartik — will be in action on Sunday. Umpires for the match are Kharadkar and R Sunder.
