Maintaining that there is confusion in the statements made by the Centre over the formation of a separate Telangana state, senior Congress legislator JC Diwakar Reddy today asked the Centre to depute an emissary to clarify the doubts of leaders in non-Telangana regions.
"Home Minister P Chidambaram, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and the Union Home Secretary have spoken on the issue. There is some confusion. We request the Centre to send a representative to clarify the doubts. It will help restore normalcy in the state," he told reporters.
Reddy, who was the first to submit his resignation, said the legislators would like the current crisis to come to an end at the earliest.
Asked about the enmass resignation of the MLAs, he said that the ball is in the court of the speaker.
He however did not rule out the possibility of MLAs taking back the resignation in the event of the current crisis being resolved amicably.
Reddy dismissed the allegations that the resignations by the MLAs is not an organised campaign but a voluntary decision by the legislators.
