The Centre will open Navodaya schools and residential girls schools in every block of Bihar, Union Minister for Steel, Fertiliser and Chemical Ramvilas Paswan said on Sunday.
The Centre will initiate the process for the appointment of 1.30 lakh teachers for this purpose, the Lok Janshakti Party leader said at a public rally, criticising the Nitish Kumar government's teacher-appointment policy.
The government decided to bring 1.3 crore people living Below Poverty Line (BPL) under the ambit of health insurance scheme, he said adding that these families will be provided medicines upto Rs 35,000.
On the industrialisation drive in Bihar, Paswan said that he will try his best to re-start the closed sugar mills and also set up a paper-mill in the district besides renovating the Harishchandra stadium.
The LJP leader said the UPA government has decided to give pension to widows with 40 years of age.
