Barcelona captain Carles Puyol is convinced Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas will move to the Nou Camp. "Cesc is a really nice guy and desperate to become a Barcelona player," Puyol told the Daily Star on Sunday.

Puyol's comments came after Wenger attempted to draw a line under the affair.

"He's such an important player for us, he's our captain and we want to keep him," said Wenger.

Real gunning for silva

Madrid: Spanish giants Real Madrid have turned their attention towards signing Brazilian Thiago Silva as coach Jose Mourinho hunts down a world class centre back.

The 25-year-old, arrived at Milan in 2009 from Fluminese and is under contract till 2013 and has a price tag of around 15 million euros.

The decision come after Inter Milan jected offers for Brazilian defender Maicon who was under Mourinho’s wing at the Italian side last season.

Ozil to leave Bremen

Bremen: Werder Bremen are ready to listen to offers for Mesut Ozil, the club’s sporting director Klaus Allofs said on Sunday. Ozil was one of the stars of the recent World Cup, at the heart of the German team.

Among those interested include clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United and Arsenal.
