The Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) has promised to provide temporary sewage and electricity connections to the central government health dispensary in Sector 5 so that operations could start soon.

However, during the meeting with the Gurgaon chapter of CGHS beneficiaries’ welfare association, Huda administrator Parveen Kumar did not give a specific date when the connections would be fixed.

“The administrator has promised that he will provide temporary connections to the dispensary as soon as possible, but didn’t say by when. Nor did he comment on when the dispensary would get a completion certificate,” said Dr DR Dey, consultant of the project.

The two-floor dispensary, which was completed in August last year, is yet to receive a completion certificate from Huda. Only after that, can water, sewage and electricity connections can be provided to the dispensary.

“I don’t know why there is a delay in issuing the certificate. We had submitted all the documents on time,” added Dey.

In November last year, RK Jain, director general of the Union health and welfare ministry, had visited the dispensary and promised that the unit would be made functional by January 2013.

But Huda had requested the chief administrator for a year’s extension to complete the construction. The dispensary will benefit more than 30,000 CGHS beneficiaries residing in nearby sectors. It will provide referral services, consultation, lab tests, Ayurveda services and free medicines.

Once this unit is ready, the Jacobpura dispensary will shift here. The 20-year-old Jacobpura centre has a footfall of 900 patients per day.
