THE MEMBER of the Central Technical Committee (CTC)  of the Maoists, Chekka Krishna, who was among the five persons arrested in the raid at illegal weapon factory of Naxalites, has trained scores of Naxalites in various states.

During his stay in Madhya Pradesh in the last decade, Krishna not only developed and manufactured weapons here but also visited Naxalite camps regularly to train other Naxalites in manufacturing sophisticated weaponry.

The police initially believed that process for developing certain sophisticated weapons was on. However, it has been found that consignments of RPG 7 were also sent regularly.

The disclosure that sophisticated rocket launchers were not only developed but also sent from Bhopal to Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand in large quantities has worried the investigative agencies. The training camps are held in forests of Dandkaranya, where the weapons were tested also.

Such is the secrecy within the organisation that the Naxalites here had been given just the phone number — of only one superior.

They were not allowed to write down this number rather had just to remember it. Phone call was made from a PCO at random.  Also, the person who came with money or to deliver consignment was not allowed to interact with them.
The codes were exchanged and the money or consignment would change hands but no cordialities were allowed.
