Chennai-bound Kaveri Express derails, none injured

Some coaches and engine of the Chennai-bound Kaveri Express from Mysore derailed near Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border near Vellore in the wee hours of today, railway sources said.

The engine along with five coaches of the train derailed around 2.40am when the driver tried to stop the train after he saw some rocks on the tracks, they said.

None were injured.

Since the route had double lining, traffic on the route was not affected much, they said.
