Amole Gupte, the acclaimed scriptwriter of Taare Zameen Par, learns everyday from children and regards them as his greatest teachers. "I just shut up when I am in children's company and listen to what they say. They are my greatest teachers."
The scriptwriter who was present at the WorldKids International Film Festival feels that watching films with kids is altogether a different experience. "When you watch a movie with an intellectual person, it impacts you differently, but when you see a movie with children, you are touched by the purity of their heart and minds."
Amole Gupte is deeply impressed by the performance of child actors of Taare Zameen Par. "There are several children in the movie who have performed so well that it can put an adult actor to shame."
Amole gives full credit to his wife Deepa Bhatia for conceiving the script of Taare Zameen Par and says that she could not be present at the festival as she is taking care of her kid in Mumbai. "Deepa conceived the baby called Taare Zameen Par. And here I am hogging all the limelight."
The scriptwriter regards Taare Zameen Par as a genre less film as it cuts across all the generations. "You cannot call it a children's film. It is meant for people from all generations."
Speaking of animation films, Amole Gupte rules out any possibility of making one himself as he feels it's not his cup of tea. "I'm not a master."
Amole Gupte is ready with his next script and has tentatively titled it India Item. "My next film would be called India Item. It's based on economic inequality."
