"Reports about cross-border activities on the Indo-China border are received regularly," Minister of State for Home Affairs Radhika V Selvi informed the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
She, however, said: "Such activities are carefully monitored and appropriately responded to keeping in view of India's strategic interests." Selvi was responding to a question on details about frequent cross-border activities along the Indo-China border.
Replying to a separate question, she said the government has taken a comprehensive project for construction of road links in the border areas along the Indo-China border in the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.
However, the details furnished by the Home Ministry point out that of the 27 proposed roads along the border, construction has started only on two roads, both in Arunachal Pradesh.
Twenty-five of the remaining proposed roads are awaiting Clearence from various departments like Forest/Wildlife to technical committees.
