Actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi on Saturday hit out at his critics and said his newly-launched Praja Rajyam party would strive to fulfill its dream of ushering in change in the society.
In an oblique reference to Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu's remark that the actor was only "daydreaming about coming to power", Chiranjeevi said only those who dare to dream will achieve the results.
"Let us all dream of a better society and a better tomorrow. We will certainly achieve it. Former President Abdul Kalam always says we should first dream and then set out to make our dreams a reality," he said while addressing a group of party workers here.
Without mentioning any political party or leader by name, he exhorted his fans to stay focused on the task on hand and strive for betterment of the society.
Both the ruling Congress and TDP had on Friday made light of Praja Rajyam Party's claim that it was set to emerge as a major political force in the state.
"They are making such claims only to generate confidence about themselves. These claims are nothing but day-dreaming," Chandrababu Naidu had said.
The Congress spokesman N Tulasi Reddy said the fledgling party was making bombastic claims of being the only alternative to the ruling party.
