Christian Eminent, Jagdale in semis

CHRISTIAN EMINENT and Jagdale School on Friday entered the semifinal in the interschool U-19 cricket tournament organised by Christian Eminent Higher Secondary School at Tulsinagar grounds.

The first quarterfinal was played between Laurence School and Christian Eminent Higher Secondary School. Batting first, Christian Eminent scored 187/7. Ram Singh batted well to score an unbeaten 50 while Ankit Parashar scored 35. Rahul Malviya scored a useful 30. Jeevandeep captured three wickets.

In reply, Laurence School lost all the wickets for 84 runs and lost the match by 103 runs. Bhavesh scored 28 and rest of the batsmen failed to read the accurate bowling of Nakul. Nakul captured four wickets while Rahul Malviya and Gaurav Patel captured two wickets each.

In the second quarterfinal match, Jagdale School defeated Sarafa Vidya Niketan by five wickets. Batting first, Sarafa Vidya Niketan scored 135/7. Ankur Palanpure scored an unbeaten 45 while Sankalp scored 26. In reply, Jagdale School surpassed the required runs losing five wickets.

Nikhil batted brilliantly to score an unbeaten 68 while Akash Jain scored an unbeaten 26 to help their team’s five wicket victory. Ashish Kanango took two wickets.
