March 29, 2009: Varun Gandhi surrendered before the local court in Pilibhit after his anticipatory bail expired and was arrested and jailed .
April 16: He was granted a two week parole on April 16.
April 22: Filed his nomination as a candidate in Pilibhit.
May 8: The State Advisory Board of the Allahabad High Court recommended the revocation of the NSA on him.
