THE CONFEDERATION of Indian Industry (CII), which aims to create a national-level vision and dialogue on the issues of integrity, probity, transparency, accountability and ethics in all facets of our national endeavour as part of its Integrity India Campaign, will organise a series of awareness sessions on ‘Right To Information (RTI) Act’ on February 5, 6 & 7 in Indore, Bhopal and Katni respectively.
The CII, Bhopal, in its release said the former Cabinet Secretary of the Union Government and president, IC Centre for Governance (New Delhi) would be the speaker for the sessions and address the audience on ‘Right to Information (RTI) Act in improving governance’.
As Cabinet Secretary to the Centre, he was the chief advisor to the Prime Minister and the Union Cabinet on all matters of policy making. He occupied the position of Cabinet Secretary from April 1998 to October 2000. Thereafter, he was appointed as the Governor of the newly created predominantly tribal state of Jharkhand.
He has written extensively on the quality of governance.The session in Bhopal is scheduled on February 6 from 6 pm at Ravindra Bhavan, which is likely to be attended by those from industry, government, civil society, NGOs, academia and media.
