THE MAHARANA Pratap Nagar police on Saturday registered a case against five staffers of the Bhopal City Link Limited for misbehaving with a police official and obstructing her in the discharge of duty.
The supervisor of Bhopal City Link Limited (BCLL) Rafat Ali and the drivers and conductors of two Star City Link Buses were booked for threatening the police official Supriya Chaudhary and obstructing her in discharging her duty.
The five persons were rounded up and the buses seized, said MP Nagar police. Rafat Ali was reportedly arrested later. The incident had occurred on Friday when traffic police subedar Supriya Chaudhary had asked two City Link buses to move away from the centre of the road and park at the right place.
This had led to a heated exchange between Chaudhary and the staff of the buses who allegedly threatened her. The action was however taken more than 24 hours after the incident.
The BCCL staff took dozens of Star City Link Buses to the MP Nagar and parked them at the police station as a mark of protest against their employees. The buses also suspended their operation for a few hours but later on they resumed operation.
Meanwhile, the minibus operators appeared happy with the action on their rival staff. The BCLL employees, however, allege that the police were harassing them at the behest of mini bus operators.
