City set for musical magic

Residents of the city will enjoy a musical day as classical singer Sonam Kalra will present The Sufi Gospel Project performance along with Alex Fernandes (piano), Ahsan Ali Khan (sarangi), Rajesh Prasanna (flute), Amaan Ali Khan (tabla) and Daniel Paul (guitar) will perform at Epicentre here on Thursday.

Residents of the city will enjoy a musical day as classical singer Sonam Kalra will present The Sufi Gospel Project performance along with Alex Fernandes (piano), Ahsan Ali Khan (sarangi), Rajesh Prasanna (flute), Amaan Ali Khan (tabla) and Daniel Paul (guitar) will perform at Epicentre here on Thursday.

Kalra said, “The Sufi Gospel Project is an effort to blend all voices of faith by using song, music and spoken word. Indian spiritual texts are enriched with elements of Western poetry to create a sound that touches every soul.”

She has learnt classical music from Shubha Mudgal and Sarathi Chatterjee. Presently, she is learning Jazz Gospel.
Talking about her performance, she said, “In the performance, I would present traditional gospel pieces, which people loved.”
