Civilian shot dead by militants in JK, another escapes

Militants tonight shot dead a civilian in Baramulla district while another persons escaped an attack in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.

Militants tonight shot dead a civilian in Baramulla district while another persons escaped an attack in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.

Unidentified militants shot at and critically injured Mohsin Ahmad Wani in Sopore town of Baramulla district at around 9.30 pm, they said.

Wani (34), an employee in the Fruit Mandi at Sopore, was shot in the head, abdomen and shoulder by the assailants before they fled from the spot. He died before he could be taken to hospital, they said.

In another attack around the same time, militants opened fire at Khalid Ahmad at Sumbal in Bandipora district, the sources said. He escaped as the ultras missed the target.
