A clash broke out between two groups in Lucknow’s Wazirganj area on Thursday night following India’s loss to the West Indies in the semifinals of World T20.

Members of one group made fun of the other group which led to the brawl.

The groups pelted stones at each other, said Radhey Shyam Rai, circle officer. He added that police had to lathi-charge the brawling groups to control the situation.

No one was injured in the incident, Rai said.

India lost to West Indies by seven wickets despite a superb innings by Virat Kohli in the second semifinal in Mumbai. West Indies take on England in the final on Sunday.
