A CLASS XII student Anil Kumar Mishra was found hanging in a room in his house in LDA Colony in Krishnanagar on Friday evening. The police, on Saturday, registered a case of murder in the incident following allegations by the deceased boy’s relatives.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a man beat his wife to death and hung her body from the ceiling fan to give the murder the semblance of a suicide in Aliganj on Friday night. The accused was absconding. Police too, claimed that the woman had committed suicide. Sanjay of Bakshi ka Talab, informed the Aliganj police
about murder of his sister Geeta (26) by her husband Prem Sagar. Sanjay alleged that Sagar, a vegetable vendor and resident of Purania locality, married Geeta three years back and the couple had two daughters.
Sanjay alleged that Sagar was a drunkard and gambler. The couple used to fight regularly over Sagar’s bad habits and he used to assault his wife almost every night.
On Friday night, Sanjay alleged, Sagar returned home heavily drunk after spending all money earned from selling vegetables on gambling. Geeta raised objections and both entered into a tiff. The altercation turned violent as Sagar started beating his wife brutally with a stick.
He assaulted Geeta mercilessly causing serious injuries on her head, face and the back. Sanjay further alleged that Sagar later hanged his unconscious wife from the ceiling fan causing her death. Sagar later fled the scene leaving his three-year-old and one-and-half-months-old daughters wailing.
The neighbours later informed the police and Sanjay too was intimated about the incident. Despite Sagar absconding from the house, cops ruled out murder.
They claimed the woman ended her life on being fed up of her husband’s ways.
In another incident, Anil Kumar Mishra (18), a native of Unnao district and staying in a rented room at LDA Colony in Krishnanagar, was found hanging with a nylon cord from the ceiling fan in his room on Friday. Anil’s neighbour Ravi Dwivedi informed the local police and his father who is a teacher with a primary school in Unnao.
Anil, a class XII student with Lucknow Vidya Mandir Inter College, Alambagh, was staying alone in the rented house for the last one year. Anil’s father alleged that his son’s feet were touching the cot which indicated that the boy was hanged to death. His father, however, failed to name any suspect or the reason behind his son’s “murder”.
