A Class XII student was murdered and his brother critically injured in an attack by two brothers over some issue in Dabua colony under Saran police station late on Monday.

Police have registered a murder case against the brothers. The victims have been identified as Amit, 18, a Class XII student, and his younger brother Ajay. The brothers, residents of E-block of Dabua colony, were on their way to meet a friend when they were attacked.

Police said the brothers saw the accused brothers, Dharminder and Mahinder of the same colony, and they starting arguing. Dharminder, Mahinder and their other family members are accused of having dragged Amit and Ajay inside their house and beating them badly before piercing Amit's body with a sharp iron weapon, police said.

When the family members of the victims came to know about the incident, they rushed to Dharminder's house and took them to hospital. Amit was declared dead on arrival.

Hemant Kumar, SHO Saran, said, "The accused brothers are missing. We have registered a case."
