TO TRAIN educated tribal youths for a career in the defence services, directives have been issued to arrange district-level coaching classes to prepare youth for relevant examinations.
Instructions have been issued to assistant commissioner tribal development and district co-ordinators of Tribal Welfare Department in this regard.
A 14-day State-level training programme will be conducted by the C S Institute of Defence and Management, Bhopal, where 20 candidates will be imparted training for development of self-confidence, enhancing knowledge of English and Hindi, leadership development, group formation, advance information and development of personality desired by the defence services.
The district collectors were asked to provide the names of the interested tribal youth of their areas by October 20 for the purpose.
Commissioner, Tribal Welfare, Raghav Chandra issued directives to all assistant commissioners, tribal development and district co-ordinators, Schedule Tribe Welfare, to select eligible tribal candidates from post-matric hostels and the interior areas and also directed to make arrangements for written and physical examination at district-level.
Students in the age group of 16.5 years to 19 years with 70 per cent marks in physics, chemistry in 10+2 examination can join technical entry scheme course of the defence through SSB (Service Selection Board).
Graduates with at least 50 per cent marks and having NCC certificate in the age group of 19 to 25 years can send their application through SSB in October/ November.
