Can you elaborate on the services offered by WAPCOS?
WAPCOS’ spectrum of services cover a wide range of activities such as feasibility studies, simulation studies, field investigations, detailed engineering reports, etc in the fields of water resources, power and infrastructure development. The company also offers concept-to-commissioning services for developmental projects in India and abroad.
Can you tell us about your international operations?
WAPCOS is registered with various international funding agencies for participating in the projects funded by World Bank, African Development Bank, Asian Development Bank, Japan Bank for International Cooperation, United Nations Office for Project Services etc. Apart from India, WAPCOS has successfully completed and executed assignments in 55 countries and is currently engaged in providing consultancy services in over 25 countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka etc.
Which are the specialised areas of WAPCOS and what are its main strengths?
Water, power and infrastructure are our areas of core strength. The projects in these sectors require a very complex project cycle including specialised and core expertise at every step. Our clients can count on our competencies to tackle complex and inter-related tasks. We provide a unique blend of direct and frontline experience with latest state of art technological skills. The sheer scale, type, number of the projects handled and their overall impact is what separates us from others.
What have been your recent achievements?
WAPCOS has forayed and forged ahead in several new fields and regions and has been able to secure prestigious projects.
This year, the company has paid highest ever dividend since its inception in 1969. Besides that the company has received awards like SCOPE Meritorious Award- Corporate Governance. We have also received the top Performing CPSEs’ ‘MoU Excellence Award’ instituted by Department of Public Enterprises. The Company has also been conferred with ‘PSE Excellence Award-2012’ for ‘best human resource management” instituted by department of public enterprises and Indian chamber of commerce.
