The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) on Monday unanimously passed a resolution supporting the traders agitating against the MCD's sealing drive even as the ruling party in the capital braced itself for a stormy winter session of the assembly.
"We are sorting out the matter and will ensure that the traders get relief," Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit told reporters after the CLP meeting.
Condemning the BJP for "playing politics" in the matter, the CLP resolution demanded that the Centre should file a review petition in the Supreme Court at the earliest seeking relief for the over 44,000 traders who face sealing action from November 1.
The CLP, that met prior to the 10-day winter session, demanded that the Master Plan for Delhi 2021 be implemented by January 31, 2007 to give respite to the trading community from sealing.
The party voiced support to the trading community which on Monday went on a three-day bandh to protest the sealing drive set to resume on November 1.
