Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal honoured young shooter Rubab Kaur for achieving excellence in state and national level shooting championships.
A student of Spring Dale Senior Secondary School, Rubab Kaur Sekhon is the first girl from the holy city to participate in the National Level Shooting Championship in her age group. The young shooter, who believes in persistent practice, has emerged as state champion in shooting thrice. At the national level also, she was one of the top rankers, on the basis of which she qualified for the trial of the international competition conducted at Agra.
Although she practices for more than three hours daily yet she devotes sufficient time to her studies too. She manages her time extremely well and is one of the top students of her class, reveal the school authorities.
School Principal Rajiv Sharma asserted that Rubab’s feat is a matter of pride for Spring Dale School, which is developing potentialities in students to the maximum extent. On Rubab’s success as a shooter, he stated that she understands the finer and subtle aspects of the sport and that she has learnt under the expert and inspiring guidance of coach Mahavir Singh.
