CHIEF MINISTER Mulayam Singh Yadav laid the foundation stones of a Textile Park and distillery of India Glycone along with Gallant Ispat Industry at Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) on Tuesday.
Terming it a historical event in industrial development of eastern UP, the chief minister said eastern UP had been ignored by successive Union governments in the past 55 years but with the investment of Rs 350 crore by three industries at GIDA, new possibilities had emerged for rapid development of this region.
The CM said in 1989 his government had constituted Purvanchal Vikas Nidhi for the development of eastern UP but successive governments diluted the concept. He further said the UP Development Council had made a suitable atmosphere for investments.
He hinted that State minister Jaiprakash Yadav would get party ticket from Sahjanwa as he had consolidated the position of Yadavs. Earlier Jaiprakash Yadav was elected from Dhuriapar assembly seat and this time had planned to contest election from Sahjanwa, which has triggered off the tussle between Yadav and Yashpal Ravat who was also a strong contender for the party ticket.
Mulayam Singh said if the government would not provide the required gas for functioning of power plant at Dadri, SP would produce power by use of coals.
He once again promised that lifeline of eastern UP, BRD Medical College would become one of the best medical colleges of the state and for this there would be no paucity of funds.
