CHIEF MINISTER Shivraj Singh Chouhan unveiled the bust of senior BJP leader Bherulal Patidar in village Gawli Palasia on Monday afternoon.
Chouhan first garlanded the statue of Babasaheb Ambedkar situated on the campus of Ambedkar Institute of Social Sciences and then proceeded to Gawli Palasia where he unveiled the statue of Patidar installed at the junction of AB Road and the village main road.
Addressing the gathering, Chouhan paid rich tributes to Patidar who he said lived for others and this was the way great men lived. Patidar was a visionary who always dreamt of making MP No. 1 in terms of development. He was a true follower of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay who always talked of uplift of the farmers during meetings. Chouhan said that as a tribute to Patidar, the Mhow Degree College has also been named after him.
Presiding over the function Indore Member of Parliament Sumitra Mahajan also spoke along with PWD Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Patidar’s daughter Kavita Patidar and present vice-chairman of State Planning Commission Sonpal Singh.
Khargone MP Krishnamurari Moghe, Laxminarayan Sharma, Sudhkarrao Bapat, Indore Mayor Uma Shashi Sharma, Mahendra Hardia, Satyanarayan Sattan, Ashok Patidar, Ramesh Mendola, IDA chairman Madhu Verma, IMC chairman Shankar Lalwani, Ashok Patidar and others were also present on the occasion.
Taking advantage of the programme, some supporters of late Patidar projected his daughter Kavita as the next candidate for Mhow Assembly seat. In almost all the posters and banners, large portraits of Kavita were there along with those of senior leaders of the BJP.
