With the internal crisis in BJP's state unit having blown over, JDS chief H D Kumaraswamy on Sunday asked Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to immediately get back to flood relief and rehabilitation work, saying the operation was badly affected due to the wrangling.

"From day one I have been telling them this is not the time to create unnecessary problems. I had requested both groups to sort out their problems and try to concentrate on flood relief work," he told PTI.

He said the BJP was involved in a "big drama" for the past 14 days, resulting in a waste of valuable time, which should instead have gone towards providing relief to flood victims.

Taking a dig at the Yeddyurappa government, he said it was not enough to simply lay foundation stones and make promises for building houses, but to expedite the work.

He said he congratulate the BJP on behalf of the people for resolving the crisis, as it would mean they could get back to flood relief and rehabilitation work, "which is the need of the hour."
