CHIEF MINISTER Shivraj Singh Chouhan declared on Saturday that government doctors would be transferred on a ‘massive scale’ to improve health facilities in the State.
The CM was addressing tribals at their meeting at his residence. Chouhan said in a satirical tone that doctors were ‘a powerful caste’. If a doctor treated a politician, the latter tried his level best to ensure that the doctor was not transferred out of the city.
The Chief Minister admitted that hospitals in the State were not in a good shape. There were not enough doctors and hence medical services were affected, he added.
Chouhan said he was not one of those chief ministers who believed in the notion that “sub kuchh theek thak chal raha hai”. Instead, he would like to admit that shortcomings existed in the system. But he would try to identify the shortcomings and remove them, he added.
Without naming them, the CM lashed out at certain NGOs which, he said, worked for their vested interests and their objective was to create disturbance in the society to serve their purpose.
