From Saturday, the supply of compressed natural gas (CNG) will be disrupted for the next 30 hours in the city.
CNG stations in the city have been shut down due to maintenance shutdown by GAIL — main supplier to the Haryana City Gas Distribution Limited (HCGDL). The supply will be affected from June 16 (11.30pm) to June 18 (6am).
The city has five CNG stations in Sectors 22, 29, 44, 53 and bus depot.
Though CNG will not be supplied at these stations, emergency supply by mobile cascades will be arranged for roadways buses to avoid disruption of public transport.
With this, residents will have to go to Delhi to get their vehicles refuelled.
“The inconvenience is unavoidable and rare. We will provide emergency supply to roadways buses. However, the supply at other stations will remain disrupted,” said Satish Chopra, chairman and managing director, HCGDL.
“We will ensure uninterrupted gas supply to our domestic customers and commercial establishments from our line pack,” he added.
As many as 25,000 cars, 350 buses and 3,500 CNG autos get their vehicles refuelled at CNG stations across the city.
