Irish actor Collin Farrell has been fined for overspeeding in Bath, England.
The Phone Booth actor was driving a Range Rover in the early hours June 27 last year (09) when a police camera caught him driving over the speed limit.
He was due to appear at Bath magistrate's court Thursday (Feb 18) to face two charges, but he did not show up and sent a letter of apology instead.
Farrell pleaded guilty to the speeding offence, as well as a charge of failing to provide information to identify himself as the driver of the car.
He has been fined 60 pounds for overspeeding, reports contactmusic.com
In the handwritten letter he states, "I sincerely apologise for not having responded to the original notice of intended prosecution as the initial notice and further correspondence in regard to the speeding offence were delivered to Ealing Studios. I am, and have been, residing in the United States and, therefore, have not received or been aware of the information regarding this offence."
"The Range Rover was registered at the company address and therefore the correspondence was delivered there," he added.
"I look forward to resolving this matter with the court's assistance and once again apologise for the lapse in correspondence due to the mishandling of address material by the production company at Ealing Studios," he said.
