Residents living along the Gurgaon Expressway have finally got sewage and water supply connections after a long wait of 11 years.

The main pipeline along National Highway-8 is almost complete and operational with all nearby areas developed by Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) connected. Now, private colonies have to be connected with it.

“The main trunk lines along with their branches are 80% complete. Areas like Sohna Road, sectors 30, 31, 32 and 45 have got connections whereas far off areas will be connected within the next 15 days,” Huda administrator Nitin K Yadav said.

The authority has also cleaned and connected old pipelines along the expressway to the main trunk line. The main line is connected to the Behrampur sewage treatment plant (STP) which is already operational.

While residents of Sohna Road are delighted with the development, others are eagerly waiting for their developers to connect the respective societies to the main line.

“We have finally got the connection after a span of 11 years. Now all residents are waiting for the developer to connect our colony to the main line,” said Raman Sharma, a resident of Malibu Towne.

One of the developers, Bestech, said its colonies will soon be connected with the sewage line. “We will connect our colony as soon as we get the connection till Parkview City 1 and 2. We are not sure if the line has reached us till now,” an official of the firm said.
